One of my good friend’s has been dogging me lately because he feels that I have no place on the Web to call my own. Sure, I’ve got a few things going on, but nothing that’s really and truly personally branded. His big thing is that he’ll know I’m really serious about this whole digital native thing when he can find me on the Web by entering www.genedelibero.com into his browser’s URL bar.
Alright, man. Here I am. I hope you’re happy with yourself. It’s taken me a day or so to put this WordPress blog together (I’m using Chris Pearson’s Thesis theme) and now I’ll be spending all sorts of time tweaking the layout and posting.
Thanks, buddy. My wife and kids will be thrilled!

Congrats, to you Gene for walking the talk! I am but a pseudonym of myself (Doc) on my teaching and consulting Web site, but here, you are your Web site – and it is you!
In an era where physical networks have become the individual and social manifestation for which they were inevitably destined, why shouldn’t we have our own name as the address on them?
Perhaps as you allude in your close, there are still matters of privacy and security to resolve, but what would the Web otherwise be (still in its relative infancy) if it were not for the stalwart individuals who lay personal claim to it?
That may be grist for comments in reply to your first blog entry here. As for me, I welcome your new address and wish you well in your new abode on the Web.
